It's here: a power thrifty, high performance dual core Intel Atom processor paired with a high performance, second generation, Nvidia ION 2 GPU packed in a little netbook.
technology news
The Intel z550 dual core Atom chip runs at 1.5 GHz and supports DDR3 memory. It will make multitasking on your netbook easier. The Nvidia ION 2 chip is outfitted for playing HD video and improved gaming.
The ASUS Eee PC 1015N may house these chipsets first, expected in September for $399 inside the U.S. The 10-inch 1015N looks interesting, but be aware of the ASUS' 12.1-inch Eee PC VX6 with Lamborghini styling.
Network Connection for Connected TVs and More
When you pick up a connected HDTV, Blu-ray player, or AVR receiver, and it needs a high-speed Internet connection, however the wireless router is too far, you may want to consider the Western Digital device known as the Livewire Powerline AV Network Kit as a solution. They claim to offer 200Mbps with this $140 kit; it just plugs into the wall plug, the router, plus your devices. Just stay away from using electronically noisy devices like blow dryers, which may cause interference.

End of the SED Era
On August 18, 2010 Canon announced it was closing down SED Inc, a subsidiary of Canon which had been developing Surface-condition Electron-emitter Displays (SED). The idea of a super skinny TV with all the great qualities of a CRT like great color, deep blacks and big viewing angles was attractive. As an alternative to one beam coming from the long neck of your CRT, an SED might have thousands of individual guns striking phosphors directly in front of them. Unfortunately, it sounds like there were a lot of obstacles to overcome to produce a commercially viable TV through the technology. There's wish for similar TV technology (FED) using carbon nanotubes as electron emitters, so that may not be lost.
